Workers Compensation Attorney

Work Injuries – Susan K. Bradley, Esq.

Over the past ten years, there have been significant changes to worker’s compensation laws. This year, the state legislators have proposed even bigger changes that may directly affect what type of injuries will be covered under workers compensation.

Each year thousands of workers suffer as a result of work-related injuries. Millions more sustain permanently disabling injuries in the course and scope of their work duties. If you have been injured on the job, and your employer or workers’ compensation insurance carrier accepts the injury as being work related, they are required to provide medical care and temporary financial benefits for you. If you have suffered a permanent impairment, you may also be entitled to permanent benefits.

I, Susan K. Bradley, have more than 20 years experience representing workers only – and have never represented an employer in matters of work-related injury. I understand the economic impact that serious work-related injuries can have on families, and I will provide guidance, support, and resources designed to help you through this process.

If you have been injured in a work-related accident, you must notify your employer within 30 days, but it is always best to inform them immediately. The information that you give your employer about your injury and how it occurred, is critical to your claim. The statement given to the insurance carrier is likewise critical to your claim. I strongly recommend your consulting an attorney as soon as possible after the injury and prior to the injury report if at all possible.

After reporting your injury, if the employer determines it is their belief your injury is work related, they must then provide a choice of physicians.

Workers’ compensation carriers utilize trained professionals to handle injury cases. Unlike most employees, these insurance professionals know the workers’ compensation laws and will try and use them to their advantage. If you have been injured in a job-related accident, it is crucial to your interests that you consult an attorney you can trust, so that you will receive all the compensation afforded to you by law.
