Mediation – Susan K. Bradley, Esq.

Susan Bradley is certified by the Tennessee Supreme Court as a Rule 31 mediator. Under Tennessee law, spouses in a contested divorce must try to resolve their disagreements using mediation prior to going before a judge to get a divorce decree. Further, individuals already proceeding under a parenting plan must go through mediation if changes are requested before either party can file a lawsuit.

As a mediator, I am a neutral person who is not a judge, and I listen to the parties’ disagreements and help you find ways to resolve your conflicts without the time and expense of a full-blown trial. You do not have to have an attorney to go through mediation.

The mediation does not take place in a courtroom or with a judge present. It is a semi-formal proceeding. By settling your case with a mediator, YOU control the outcome. Judges are human and as humans, our decisions are often unpredictable. Why leave that decision to a judge who must “get” to know you only through witness at a trial which typically lasts only a few hours? Don’t let a judge decide the future. Go through mediation and make those decisions yourself, saving you time and money in going through the court system.
